One pill makes you larger...

Warning: TMI to follow. Proceed at your own risk.

Watch out folks! It's time for Aunt Flo's visit. Her stays are much shorter lately, but she is one mean motherfucker when she's here. I guess she's getting ornery in her old age...
And this morning she has decided to roundhouse kick me repeatedly in my gut.
I sometimes get some relief from two "Premenstrual Symptom Relief" pills (Rite Aid store brand, of course) which have acetaminophen, pamabrom and pyrilamine maleate. And when it's an awful day--worse than today--I'll take two acetaminophen with codeine for some--but not total--relief. But right now I'm somewhere in between. Thus, I have decided to take one of each instead of two of one or the other.
Experiments in chemistry, folks. It's what I do.
Also? If you stop by? I am not being intimate with my heating pad wrapped pillow. It just kind of looks like that, so get your mind out of the gutter. Also, you better bring Peanut Chews, or I'll kick you the hell out. Well, Aunt Flo will. I can't be held responsible for what she does...

My first few pds after the Mirena were horrible--lots of spotting and cramping, but now I barely get a pd at all. Maybe 1-2 days of heavy spotting (not even a flow), or nothing at all. I've stopped keeping track.

I had some cramping early Sunday morning, but nothing to show for it, and they went away. I used to have horrendous mittelschmerz followed by heavy cramping and long, heavy pds prior to my Mirena. This is def a huge improvement.

Do you think Mirena might help some of your period-related issues (not the overall issues)? Do you need the estrogen in the NuvaRing? Mirena is just progestin.

I had a rough go w/ my Mirena at the beginning, but now I love it.

I need the estradiol. (I had to take a combo pill when I took the pill.) But I've been on the ring for years--since it first came out--and this whole period thing is quite recent. Plus, I really get ooged out by the IUD regardless, you know that. Just as I won't convert you to my feminine hygeine choice, you won't convert me to your birth control choice, lol.

Completely off topic but do you remember when TMI stood for Three Mile Island?

I'm sorry you're having a rough go of it, Kayly. I hope relief comes soon.

The new TMI still confuses me, even when I say it, lol.

Can you take Advil or Motrin? If so take three of them... yes, that's right- three of them... way better than any other pain relief (as long as you aren't prone to ulcers).. make sure you don't take it on an empty stomach or you WILL burn a hole into it. (I've done that and it takes about a week and some prevacid to repair).. I have really bad "woman" problems- heavy bleeding and god awful pain due to scar tissue (thanks two c-sections- I was told by my OB that my insides were glued together) and 3 advil always sees me through :)

I've taken prescription NSAIDs for years and years twice a day and am not allowed to take ibuprofen or naproxen sodium anymore (my daily ibuprofen dose had been 2400 mg/day which=12 regular OTC/day). Since my Volatern is at max daily dose, I can't take anything other than acetaminophen or Schedule II, III or IV drugs for extra pain.
