Senses on a Suburban Spring Evening

What I see:
  1. at least a dozen kinds of trees growing both fresh and new, and strong and tall among the over two dozen trees surrounding us
  2. a little dog's forest worth of ferns
  3. a few plucky birds out almost past their bedtimes
  4. lightning bugs
  5. lots of lightning bugs
  6. around an acre of freshly shorn, fresh, green grass
  7. hot pink roses
  8. clematis
  9. vines and more vines!!!
  10. flowersflowersFLOWERS!!!!
  11. plants soon-to-flower and those which will not but are beautiful in their own right because of their million shades of green
  12. the swooping bats which I always refer to as "my bats"
  13. a freshly filled hot tub
  14. a riding mower
  15. the tranquility of the cemetery behind my house
  16. the neighbor's child's child's play-set
  17. ...and a few pink, plastic flamingos

What I smell:
see numbers 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13 above
and
a grill in some nearby yard cooling down from the busy day
warm concrete

What I hear:
see numbers 3 and 12 above
and
children playing in a yard (catching lightning bugs?)
a nearby screen door--the old-fashioned kind-- opening and closing regularly with a "whoooosh," then a "smack!"
some creatures scurrying in the brush and plants around the house
very light Sunday night traffic on "my" two busy streets

What I feel:
warm concrete beneath my dirty feet and under my ample ass
a mosquito and some gnats lighting repeatedly on my skin

What I know:
my oldest baby boy graduated from high school today
I have the whole summer ahead of me with my boys, my dogs, my friends, and--for a week--the ocean
my boys are safe and having fun with friends tonight
I'm about to eat a tub of mashed potatoes and gravy and a few biscuits with honey for a late supper

What I taste:
joy

Early Blood

(Neither a Rambo movie nor a feministic pondering of menarche.)

I'm up late, or early, or whatever, reading and a mosquito is buzzing relentlessly around my body which is sprawled on my couch. It doesn't seem to light at all the entire time and when it does--seemingly for the first time--I smack the bug, squashing him flat and feeling the squish beneath my palm. When I raise my hand several large and bright red droplets of blood show me that I was wrong. He had landed. And with that realization, I immediately begin to itch.

Poindexter and Vajayjay

Today I was wearing my long, puffy black coat with the fur hood, my black knit UGGs and a hand crocheted slouchy tam. I thought it was very hipster-douchebag of me, but I was comfy. But then I looked in the mirror and realized that I'm not even cool enough to be a hipster-douchebag anymore. And that my head is pointy. Literally pointy. I've always know that my head is not one that will ever look good bald, but I guess it never occurred to me that it's because my head. Is. Pointy. I thought it was the hat and tried to smooth it down, readjust it, whatever. Nothing worked. Because my head is pointy.
In other news:
My troubled female plumbing led me to have the laparoscopy which led to a removal of a hideous adhesion. The day of the procedure I stood in front of a mirror and sucked in my considerable gut to see how much swelling there was at the site. Pleasingly, I noticed that I was able to suck in my gut farther than I had been. Sweet! I didn't lose any noticeable amount of weight, but I guess the muscles are where they're supposed to be now or something. I don't know what the explanation is and I don't care. Then, today, I put on a pair of jeans for the first time in a week. (The waist is well below my bellybutton but the rubbing of the waistband when I slouch or bend is annoying.) And the freshly washed jeans yielded an extra ½" to ¾" inches of space around my waist than normal. SWEET²!
Lastly:
(One more female plumbing trouble story, bear with me, please.) One of the post-operative care instructions the nurse gave me before she sent me home was not to insert anything into my vagina for two weeks. She started this instruction by leaning in towards me and half-whispering, "Don't have relations with your husband for two weeks." This was in front of my husband. I got a few things out of this exchange. First, she didn't want to embarrass me by implying that I might actually have sex with my husband. Second, until the next part of the instruction ("Nothing at all in your vagina.") I wasn't positive that relations just meant sex. The way she said it almost seemed to imply any relations at all. No talking, even. The whole thing was just bizarre coming from a nurse. Oh. I just realized that without the second part, she may have been whispering because she was implying sex with men other than my husband was okay. Maybe she was freaky-deaky. Hmmmmmm...

Not Happy About Today's Horoscope

I kind of believe and kind of don't believe in horoscopes. But the Yahoo horoscopes seem to consistently relate to whatever my current situation seems to be. Here is today's:

Daily Extended for January 7, 2011 (Today)

Capricorn

12/22 – 1/19

Overview

There's one simple way to make the next few weeks of your life easier: Let go of all the things you can't control. Yes, this is easier said than done, but once you start to make the effort, you will immediately get a taste of the freedom it brings. Sometimes, guilt can keep you from moving away from old setbacks, bad relationships or other unpleasant dramas. If you're feeling guilty, ask yourself why. There's no way to go back in time. The only option is to keep going forward!

Morning Reporters

Maybe it's because I'm tired and more easily annoyed, but every time I watch ABC's morning news, I find myself pondering if Mike Von Fremd is a real reporter or if ABC is having a laugh. The man looks like Charles Grodin and the "r"s at the end of his words go on forever. I often wonder if he's fallen asleep at the end of words ending in "r." And every one of his sentences has the exact same cadence. I just cannot even fathom a real person sounding like he does. It has to be a character he's doing. Or maybe he is Charles Grodin doing a character...

Simple Things

I am a great lover of good food. From a hunk of cheese with a hunk of bread and some wine to an elaborate multi-course tasting menu, I love good food.
But sometimes, for me, good food is not always snob-worthy. Some of my favorite comfort meals in the world:
  • American cheese grilled on potato bread with a can of Campbell's tomato soup
  • Fried up burger in jarred red sauce over boxed spaghetti with Kraft grated Parmesan and a slice of packaged bread with--wait for it--Country Crock spread on it (I'm sure this is due to the overwhelming presence of margarine in my childhood. I find non-butter "butter" comforting.)
  • Reallyreally rich mashed potatoes with heaping helpings of sauerkraut on top of them
  • Harvard beets forked right from the jar
  • large curd, full fat cottage cheese on Triscuits with Fresca or TaB or ginger ale

Other than the beets, these are all, in one way or another, a remnant of my childhood. I don't have any particularly fond or poor memories of these foods; I simply remember these simple things. And I enjoy them shamelessly.

Speed Round

Smartfood Popcorn is so good that I tend to forget how bad popcorn is for my teeth and gums and digestive system until it is much, much too late.

Terry Jones's church did not burn the Quran on Saturday. But somewhere some people did. Luckily, it did not receive the same media attention the whole Jones debacle did, because giving those zealots attention is giving them exactly what they want.

Why do companies send you paper catalogs when you order something from their website?

Don't tell my husband I am admitting this, but I am finally aware that I am a magazine hoarder. Well, not in the technical sense of the term, because eventually, once they've been read, they will be recycled. I have such a love for "traditional media" that I accept all free and super discounted subscriptions which come my way. But since I am also a book hoarder--well, technically, book "saver"-- and a library addict--um, lover--it makes it quite difficult to keep up with all of my reading. Okay, wait. I'm not a hoarder at all. I'm just slow. Yeah, I'm going to go with that for now.

Am I crazy, or does Raising Hope look kind of good? I love Shannon Woodward from the dearly departed The Riches, so I'll at least give the pilot a spin. And much, much love for Martha Plimpton and Cloris Leachman, of course. (I refuse to hotlink them. If you don't know who they are, you might be beyond the help of a hotlink.)

Colbert's Dr. Strangelove turn tonight was beautiful. Try to catch the reruns tomorrow if you missed it tonight.

UPDATE: I noticed I forgot to make "Jones" possessive, so I actually had to go look up the singular possessive form of Jones. If that does not make me feel like a dingbat, I do not know what would.

A really ZANY "No, thank you."

Yesterday I received a rejection letter by email from a well-known, very large organization. I won't tell you from what I was being rejected, but I will tell you that it was not a form letter, which I found quite refreshing. The letter included advice, encouragement and specifics. But it did it all in a very odd way: in Comic Sans font. I am still not sure if this was meant to make me feel happier about my rejection or if being rejected by the organization was maybe not such a bad thing. ("Any club that wants to have me" and whatnot...)

Something as simple as a shower.

This afternoon when taking a shower I watched the sun dappled leaves rustling in the wind. A cherry tree, a walnut, a locust, a sycamore and several maples. The smell of the lilac soap, a gift from my best friend, tricking me into wondering if it was really spring and not fall's approach I was seeing... Beauty in the mundane. I must always remind myself to pause when I find it and record it to my memory.

Words I Say Regarding Stuff: An Introduction

You may notice that about twice a year for the past couple of years I seem to decide to try to make this blogging thing work. This is one of those times again. I may not always have something interesting to say, but I want to try to post something--anything--every day. We'll see how this goes.
It does bother me that I can share some witty, deep, or important things on Facebook which, essentially, disappear after a week or so. I don't have an archive. I mean, I know that the words are floating around out there in cyberland forevermore, but I can't easily access it. So that is what brings me back to this page every once in a while.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One pet peeve I have about some of the blogs I've been reading lately is that they no longer seem to follow that format of backwards chronology from the top of the page to the bottom and then you click "older posts." I rather liked that. I liked seeing the posts in some kind of order and feeling the accomplishment of completing the reading of a page. I guess because I'm a book girl, I like my information in a linear format like that. But many blogs are now using that--um--"thing" where there is one post (the most recent) on the homepage and then six to twelve blocks at the bottom of the page to choose from for further reading. That's too difficult. I don't want to read a Choose Your Own Adventure blog. I want a narrative of some kind. Granted my narrative, when read in said linear format may make a reader wonder whether I have schizophrenia or ADD or some other mental disorder which makes it difficult for me to stay on topic. Yes, I do have mental illness, but really I'm just interested in myriad, disparate topics. I apologize in advance to any new readers for the bursts of flotsam and jetsam. If you don't like it, don't read it. I'm totally cool with that. Also, I do not claim to be a writer or an artist. So if you're looking for that, you might want to go elsewhere.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I rather like the meta element of this post. Blogging about blogging.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just spell-checked this and Blogger doesn't recognize the word Facebook. Weird.
Oh, Hollywood, you're so silly...
I was just reading an article in Entertainment Weekly about Angelina Jolie’s summer movie Salt. Originally the character was named Edwin Salt and was played by Tom Cruise, but he bailed and Jolie stepped into the role of Evelyn Salt. Here’s the quote that has me bothered:
“In the original script, there was a huge sequence where Edwin Salt saves his
wife, who’s in danger,“ says [director] Noyce. “And what we found was when
Evelyn Salt saved her husband in the new script, it seemed to castrate his
character a little. So we had to change the nature of that relationship.” In the
end, Salt’s husband, played by German actor August Diehl (Inglourious Basterds),
was made tough enough that he didn’t need saving, thank you very much…
What the fuck, Hollywood? When is the woman going to be “tough enough that [she doesn’t] need saving?" Why is there no feminized metaphorical equivalent to “castrate” in art or psychology? How can Hollywood create a movie with a main character who is a female action hero, and still not see the irony in worrying over the implications of a man being rescued?
I have nothing profound or poetic to add here, I just can’t believe in this day and age, directors still say things like this and do things like this. They had to rewrite much of the script to accommodate men’s egos, yet it never occurred to them women might not want to see a woman “being rescued” by a brainwashed little person asshole actor?
When it rains it pours and other clichés I hate but use anyway.
Nate’s trip to Vegas for work this year coincided with a “crunch time” at my job, so I had to beg off of going to one of my favorite places with one of my favorite people, yet again. And, BOY HOWDY! Am I glad I stayed here, because not less than 48 hours after he left I became effectively, indefinitely unemployed. I am fairly sure I am still on the hirable list from how it was explained to me, but there are no studies coming up for which I am able to work. Paying off remaining debt plus loneliness plus having no spending money plus nowhere to go plus nothing to do equals… well, my heads explodes at that kind of math.
The same night my job was finished, my iPhone decided to crash. I know if you don’t have an iPhone or other PDA or smart phone on which you entirely rely for all of your notes, lists, appointments, et cetera, that this sounds like a privileged woman complaining about not being able to buy new shoes or something. For me, though, my whole life is run by that cute little device. My memory is poor enough and my appointments are great enough in number that I pretty much can’t get anything done without the ping of the alert or alarm reminding where I need to be. And the notes and lists help me remember what I am supposed to do when I get there. Well, apparently, some of my data was not backed up properly and I am spending the first half of this day calling everyone in hell’s tarnation and saying, “Um, hi. This is Kayly Newcomer. Am I supposed to see you at some point in the future? And if so: when?” I loooove sounding like a mentally challenged weirdo to people with access to my medical records.
Taking a step back, though: before I was able to get the phone to work again, I stayed up until 5:30 a.m. Thursday trying to follow Apple’s convoluted instructions on how to fix my problem. The instructions boiled down to, basically, “If you can’t do ‘a,’ then do ‘a’ to be able to do ‘a.’” Uuummmmm. Hm. So, yes, I basically bashed my head against the wall for a few hours until I had to sleep. I slept twenty minutes and then woke Holden for school; I slept another hour and woke to get Ethan to school; then I slept two hours before I woke to haul my dirty haired, sweaty, rumpled clothed ass to the AT&T Technical Support office on Jonestown Road. He put the phone in something he called “DFU mode” and told me not to touch anything on the phone, but to take it straight home, plug it in and restore factory software and my settings. Even he didn’t know what DFU stood for, but I’m convinced it stands for Don’t Fuck Up. In the end it’s all going to be okay. (I keep taking long, deep breaths and telling myself that, anyway…) The purely annoying (not really important) aspect of this whole thing is that I have over 80 gig of music on my hard drive, but only about 14 gig of space on my iPhone iPod, so I obviously don’t just sync iTunes to the phone; I pick and choose what I want to hear when I’m tooling around and drag it onto the device. There is no simple, time-saving way to back that list up and it has taken me almost the whole year I’ve had the phone to get it just right and weed out the duplicates, clunkers and so on just taking up space. So that process begins again, sigh. But, like my loving hubby said, “Hey, at least you have free time to do that since you’re not working anymore.” Ah, love!
The last of what I hope are the “everything bad happens in threes”-three is just the icing on the big, annoying shit cake I’ve been served this week. On the way home from the tech center I stopped at the library to pick up some books I had on hold. On the way out of the parking lot a woman in a big, ugly truck backed right into my driver’s side rear quarter panel. The first thing she said when she hopped down from the driver’s seat was, “I didn’t see you at all!!” The last thing she said after we exchanged information and were leaving was, “It didn’t even leave a mark on my truck!!” Lady, I know where you live, please don’t tempt me to violence. I don’t need that much of an excuse at this point.
I’ve been in touch with the lady’s insurance company and they said she is accepting responsibility for the accident, so now there is just the pain in the butt of getting it all done—the estimate, the bodywork, the not having a car for a day or two or whatever.
Total non-sequitur: It has been in the 90s for days now, yet today I had to turn on the heat again. It’s 63° in here! What…is the DEAL…with that?
Also, in case you are wondering: yes, I am just pretending I’ve been blogging all along. I have to just jump in and do it and stop being so self-conscious about the quality of my writing. I had a second round of ECT (five treatments) in February and my memory is still revving up to normal, as is my attention span for words on paper—mine or others’. Hopefully, this was readable enough for all six of you!
These Pretzels Are Making Me Thirsty
Election Stuff:
Still fundraising for Obama, if you're giving, do it through my Obama page, please!
McCain said in the debate he lost last night (basically) that his supporters are good people, not hateful, and how dare you (or Rep. John Lewis [D] of Georgia) imply that??
Really??!!?? Really?!?!? How about these:
  1. Inland GOP mailing depicts Obama's face on food stamp
  2. Inflammatory Republican rallies raise concerns
  3. MCCAIN'S 'FELLOW PRISONERS' ?
  4. For Some, Uncertainty Starts at Racial Identity
  5. Racism Revealed At McCain/Palin Rallies
  6. Material linking Obama to Bin Laden removed from Sacramento GOP Web site
  7. [Republican National Committee ] GOP mail ties Obama to terrorists
HMMM????? What about those? [Crickets]
Easiest Q&A ever (Bitch Ph.D. mocks McCain's Q & A style in a most succinct manner.)
McCain is an Asshole, Part MCCXXXVIII (or more, I've lost count):
And, by the way, can we stop, already, with the term "partial birth abortion?" It's called an intact dilation and extraction. Don't be a nitwit. You too, Obama. (This is one of a few things on which I disagree with Obama.) BTW, again, I am not against late-term abortion, and, yes, I am pro-abortion, and unapologetically, so stop using it as an epithet, ya doodooheads. I am also pro-life. Stew that one over for a while. Confuses your tiny heads doesn't it, you narrow-minded right-wing nuts? And I love the morning after pill, to. So there. Unfortunately, Indian women are not getting enough education on its use. And there is one form not yet available, again unfortunately.
And for fun:
Sarah Palin picture via The Mills River Progressive:
Joe "The Fucking" Plumber: Is a "Card 56" Douchebag*. He's not a licensed plumber, always knew he was going to vote for McCain (ya just know it), is a tax evader, and an utter douchebag who doesn't like Obama's "socialism." Or the "socialism" of Social Security.
Palin t-shirt I NEED!
Republicans hate Republicans, now. (I guess kinda like my hubby.)
Palin might not have blinked, but McCain sure as heck did, ya, you betcha.
A couple o' random news items which caught my eye:
  1. Pumpkin symbol marks sex offenders' homes
  2. Rabbit invasion shuts Mandela museum
  3. NJ flu-shot mandate for preschoolers draws outcry
  4. Palin says God blessed America with oil and gas
  5. Disco tune "Stayin' Alive" could save your life
  6. Mom allegedly takes daughter to fight, intervenes
  7. Man practicing a quick draw shoots himself in leg
  8. Drinking mom asks daughter, 9, to drive
  9. Kids Pulled From Transgender Teacher's Class
Kayly Stuff:
I just got polled on the election for about the 10th time. This time it was, I think they said "Pennsylvania Research Institute" or Center or something. It was automated, so I couldn't ask them to repeat it.
Had my rheumatologist appointment today. She basically said she didn't know what is going on. More tests. This time it's Quantitative Sensory Testing (QST) . And later she says I might want to revisit this with my PCP and possibly even do a sleep study to see if there is a cause for my increased fatigue of which I'm not aware. (Apnea, snoring, anything else...)
I'm taking a few days off of work with my boss' and boss' boss' approval. Weird, scary, icky encounter with a respondent. That's all I'll say on that for now, so don't ask. [Side note: I was unsure of the possessive form of boss, so I went to Google and typed in "possessive for of" and one the of the Google suggested searches was "possessive form of boss," so I felt less stupid. ;-)
Separated at birth:
*"Card 56" Douchebag is my latest attempt to enter the slang lexicon. It refers to the card in the book we use for the NSFG when asking women about douching habits. USE IT , DAMMIT! ;-)
A little bit on me & stuff-I-read-on-other-blogs-round-up
Hope you all had a great Italian rapist/pillager/enslaver/syphilis spreader Day!
My work computer is at the computer doctor. So I'll have to squish in my hours at the end of the week--again. They might compensate me for the lost hours from computer problems, but I'm not real clear on that. I know they compensated me for lost hours during quarter closing because I did not have enough work left to keep me busy. So, we'll see...
My husband and I celebrated out 14th anniversary on Saturday. He got me a gorgeous Konstantino three stone faceted citrine ring. I'd show you a picture, but it is being sent to the company to be be sized properly for my huge ass hands. :-( But you can see a pink tourmaline version here.
The weekend before this past one Nate got me a bouquet at Costco, and I always like their bouqets, but this had a neat flower called a pink mink protea:
The flowers and leaves got dark at the edges within a week so I have to be more careful about clean vase/clean water/sterm trimming if I get one again. The colors in this flash picture look more clash-y than they do in real life, but they clash in a nice Kayly-ish sort of way in real life.
Then this week I got myself a beautiful Halloween arrangement at Linglestown Flowers and Gifts (don't bother Googling them; it's just their Teleflora site and they do some of their own work that is gorgeous). They always have an arrangement in my Starbucks that are great, but this is the first time I had to buy them. I know I don't seem like a "holiday arrangment" girl, but check this:
The first photo is without flash and the second with flash. The true colors are more subtly in between. Matchy and clashy puply fuschia and fuschia-y purple with that wonderful grass green POP!
Cartoons of the week (courtesy of Bust Blog and Zen Comix):
(I love the Zen Comix one so much because it is the exact point I made during the debate.)
The rest is a random round-up of the election and what I've been reading and watching this past week. Buckle up!
This article by Michael Kinsey about a McCain craps table blow-up is interesting in its own gossipy way. So much for Obama being the only celebrity running for POTUS.
If you're an Obama Mama, you might want to see if there is a group near you.
And if you hate poly-blend fabric as much as I do watch this video. Oh, wait, what? Muslim? Oooooooohhhh....
More ignorant assholes make me lose a little bit more faith in human decency. (Don't watch these if prone to election despair.)
(Actually definelty watch this one; the blonde is hy-fucking-sterical. Watch her devolve.)
This one is GOLDEN, girl! (P.S. I heart Craig.)
A momentary lapse of the normal idiocy (of course, I won't mention that McCain thinks the opposite of Muslim is a decent man, but hey, he was trying, sort of):
Random, Incoherent & Stolen Material
[Tried to post this MUCH earlier, but Blogger was screwed up for quite some time today.]
Today is International Lazy Blogger Day. (A randomly recurring holiday I just invented. Pass it on.)
Thanks to Ethan for passing on the tidbit re: Old Man Yells at Cloud. Apparently McCain thinks Spain is neither an ally nor a part of Europe.
Avast! Today, matey, is also International Talk Like a Pirate Day, arrrr. Ye best be gettin' yer yaps a’movin’.
I knew it!! They done gone and switched it up on us. Now she’s out there campaignin’ and talkin’, guys and gals, about bein’ the POTUS. Now she won’t have ANY time for huntin’ wolves from heli-cop-ters and choppin’ their legs off. She won’t have ANY time for killin’ and field-dressin’ moose. (What will she eat??) And she won’t have any time for raisin’ her daughter’s baby.
Oprah picked her new book. The book is a hefty “tome” (these are finger quotes, not unnecessary quotes): The Story of Edgar Sawtelle: A Novel . Proving my thesis that she picks books based on their pretentiousness rather than actual readability or literary worth. (Not that they don’t sometimes overlap. Accidentally, I’m sure.) This new pick was slow, overly-wrought, and ultimately a bore for me and many other readers at my library. I guess it’s good she has people reading, but how many of them actually read the book, do you think? I bet many of them carry the fat, pretentious books around like trophies for the course of the reading period, saying vague things about the book when asked how they like it.
Good news (almost) for parents of girl teens afraid of teen pregnancy. Now, if they would start protecting themselves against disease, and goddammit, ya just know the poor girls are mostly on the giving end of the whole oral thing. Hopefully their girlfriends and they, themselves, are taking care of their own needs.
Obama’s is pulling ahead again, even with white women and independents, and getting better.
HITLER CAT!!!???!!! ROTFLMAO!
Another fun Palin picture from Margaret Cho’s blog. Don’t know if it’s real or not. Don’t care.
Monday, the 22nd, is the Autumnal Equinox at 11:44 EDT. This is a great time to open all your windows, smudge, light a candle for your seasonal goals, needs and wants and meditating/praying for the same. If you have energy to do so, Equinox is a good day for a Big Clean. I'll skip that part this year, again.
Random Random Random
Still not sure for whom you're voting? (Like I know anyone who's not sure, lol.) Try the ABC News Match-o-Matic! If you happen to know any undecideds or McCain voters, forward to them--just in case.
Shout out to Israel in the hou-ouse! (Apparently as fascinated with Sarah's tanning habits as I am...)
Sarah Palin's Yahoo account was hacked this week, which I don't endorse or agree with, but I did wonder why the governor of a state and a VP candidate uses Yahoo for email... Apparently, I wasn't the only one.
Last night my husband (remember: a lifelong Lincoln/Roosevelt Republican recently, to his slight chagrin, registered Democratic Party and hasn't looked back since) hit his breaking point. After a Colbert Report and a recounting by me of the latest Palin fun facts (see previous post), Nathan actually uttered these words:
You know, I've gotten to the point that if the Republicans do win, I think I might want to move to another country, too.
Referencing my desire over the past eight years to move to Canada. Only now I have decided Denmark is more my style. (I would be a great dane! Ba-dum-bum!) Oddly today I received an email from International House inviting me to their next event: Discover the World Danish Students Reception.
Coincidence? Foreboding omen? We'll see...
Just saw a preview for a movie called The Lucky Ones. Looks good. Wonder why I haven't heard of it before what with all of the entertainment news I read...
I'm #1!!
New Google weirdness:
I'm number on Google for the search "things you wouldn't say to" and for some reason a Parisian and Copenhagen Dane searched these right in arow and arrived at my humble blog. Poor cultured people must have been sorely disappointed.
Forgot to mention a few things...
I am, for some reason, at the top of a lot of weird searches on Google. I know this from Feedjit. But, by far, my favorite is the Rolling Stones lyric "you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need" combined with the word economics. Check it out if you don't believe me!!
This is one of my upcoming favorites in blog land, I think.
